Psalms 138

   |

Thanksgiving for the LORD'S Favor.

A Psalm of David.

1 (C1)I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I sing praises to You before the pagan (C2)gods.

2 I will bow down in worship (C1)toward Your holy temple
And (C2)give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have (C3)magnified Your word together with Your name.

3 On the day I (C1)called, You answered me;
And You made me bold and confident with renewed (C2)strength in my life.

4 (C1)All the kings of the land will give thanks and praise You, O LORD,
When they have heard of the promises of Your mouth which were fulfilled.

5 Yes, they will (C1)sing of the ways of the LORD joyfully celebrating His wonderful acts,
For (C2)great is the glory and majesty of the LORD.

6 (C1)Though the LORD is exalted,
He (C2)regards the lowly and invites them into His fellowship;
But the (C3)proud and haughty He knows from a distance. (VR1)

7 Though I (C1)walk in the midst of trouble, You will (C2)revive me;
You will (C3)stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will (C4)save me. (VR1)

8 The LORD will (C1)accomplish that which concerns me;
Your unwavering (C2)lovingkindness, O LORD, endures forever—
(C3)Do not abandon the (C4)works of Your own hands. (VR1)
