Psalms 65

   |

God's Abundant Favor to Earth and Man.

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song.

1 To You belongs silence the submissive wonder of reverence, and it bursts into praise in Zion, O God;
And to You the (C1)vow shall be performed.

2 O You who hear prayer,
To You (C1)all mankind comes.

3 (C1)Wickedness and guilt prevail against me;
Yet as for our transgressions,
You (C2)forgive them removing them from Your sight.

4 (C1)Blessed is the one whom You (C2)choose and bring near
To dwell in Your courts.
We will be (C3)filled with the goodness of Your house,
Your holy temple.

5 By (C1)awesome and wondrous things You answer us in righteousness, O (C2)God of our salvation,
You who are the trust and hope of all the (C3)ends of the earth and of the farthest (C4)sea;

6 Who (C1)creates the mountains by His strength,
Being (C2)clothed with power,

7 Who (C1)stills the roaring of the seas,
The roaring of their waves,
And the (C2)tumult of the peoples,

8 So they who dwell at the ends of the earth (C1)stand in awe of Your signs the evidence of Your presence. (VR1)
You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.

9 You visit the earth and (C1)make it overflow with water;
You greatly (C2)enrich it;
The (C3)stream of God is full of water;
You provide their (C4)grain, when You have prepared the earth.

10 You water its furrows abundantly,
You smooth its ridges;
You soften it (C1)with showers,
You bless its growth.

11 You crown the year with Your (C1)bounty,
And Your paths (C2)overflow.

12 (C1)The pastures of the wilderness drip with dew,
And the (C2)hills are encircled with joy.

13 The meadows are (C1)clothed with flocks
And the valleys are (C2)covered with grain;
They (C3)shout for joy and they sing.
