Praise for Rescue from Enemies.

¹ "^(C1)Had it not been the LORD who was on our side,"
^(C2)Let Israel say,

² "Had it not been the LORD who was on our side
When people rose up against us,

³ Then they would have ^(C1)swallowed us alive,
When their ^(C2)anger was kindled against us;

⁴ Then the ^(C1)waters would have flooded over us,
The stream would have ^(F1)swept over our souls;

⁵ Then the ^(C1)raging waters would have ^(F1)swept over our souls."

⁶ Blessed be the LORD,
Who has not given us ^(F1)to be ^(C1)torn by their teeth.

⁷ Our souls have ^(C1)escaped ^(C2)like a bird from the trapper's ^(C3)snare;
The snare is broken and we have escaped.

⁸ Our ^(C1)help is in the name of the LORD,
Who ^(C2)made heaven and earth.
