Have mercy upon met O Lord, for I am weak. Psalms 6:8. Divine answer. Fear thou not, let not thine hands he slack. The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:16-17. For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6-7. Fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy. Luke 2:10.
O Lord, thou being also my mighty Saviour, Counsellor, mighty God and all, what can I want? Why am I discouraged? Why should it be impossible to get the victory in all things? There is none too deeply corrupted, none too weak, and no enemy too strong for thee. Thou art too great a match for them all. Yea, Amen, Hallelujah.
The virgin’s promised son is born,
Behold the expected Child appear;
What shall his name or titles be?
The Wonderful, the Counsellor
This infant is the mighty God,
Come to be suckled and adored;
The eternal Father, Prince of Peace,
The Son of David and his Lord.
Jesus the holy Child, shall sit
High on his father Davids throne,
Shall crush his foes beneath his feet,
And reign to ages yet unknown.
