Holman Bible Dictionary
(ay' dri a) or ADRIATIC SEA (NAS, NIV) The sea separating Italy and Greece in which Paul's ship drifted for fourteen days as he sailed toward Rome to appeal his case to Caesar (Acts 27:27 ). Apparently Paul drifted nearly 500 miles from Clauda (Acts 27:16 ) to Malta (Acts 28:1 ).
