Galley
Holman Bible Dictionary
A long, narrow ship propelled mainly by oars. The galleys were used as warships (Isaiah 33:21 ). Such vessels were designed to sail near the shore or on rivers. The image in Isaiah is of a Jerusalem free from the threat of invasion.
