Nethaniah
Holman Bible Dictionary
(nehth uh ni' uh) Personal name meaning, “given of Yah.” 1. Son of Asaph who served in a company of prophets established by David. They issued their message with harps, psalteries, and cymbals (1 Chronicles 25:1-2 ). 2 . Levite sent along with Jehoshaphat's princes to teach from the book of the law of God in all the cities of Judah (2 Chronicles 17:7-9 ). 3. Father of Jehudi sent to Baruch by the princes of Jehoiakim (Jeremiah 36:14 ).
4. Father of Ishmael who killed Gedaliah (2 Kings 25:23-25; Jeremiah 40:8 ,Jeremiah 40:8,40:14-16;Jeremiah 40:14-16;41:1 ).
