ABINADAB (‘father is generous’). 1 . The second son of Jesse ( 1Sa 16:8; 1 Samuel 17:13 , 1 Chronicles 2:13 ). 2 . A son of Saul slain in the battle of Mt. Gilboa ( 1 Samuel 31:2 = 1 Chronicles 10:2 ). 3 . Owner of the house whither the ark was brought by the men of Kiriath-jearim ( 1 Samuel 7:1 ), whence it was subsequently removed by David ( 2 Samuel 6:3 f., 1 Chronicles 13:7 ).
