Ailleboust, Louis D', Sieub de Coulanges
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Third Governor of Canada, born France; died Montreal, Canada, 1660. He was associated in the foundation of Montreal, and in 1648 became Governor-General of Canada. During his term of office the Huron missions were destroyed. He later engaged in farming on lands granted him near Montreal and induced the Sulpicians to come there. He laid the first stone of the ckurch of Saint Anne de Beaupre.
