- Péthén (Deuteronomy 32), the cobra;
- Akhshubh, (Psalms 13; Romans 3), a highly poisonous viper, also mentioned once in the Hebrew Bible;
- Shahal, (Psalms 90), a snake;
- cphoni (Isaiah 59), called "the hisser."
