Coleman, Edward
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Controversialist, politician, and secretary to the Duchess of York, executed at Tyburn, 1678. Accused of complicity in the Titus Oates Plot, he was condemned to death, though innocent. He had engaged successfully in religious controversy with Stillingfleet and Burnet.
