1910 New Catholic Dictionary
For Latin-American students in Rome. Founded in 1858 by Pope Pius IX and Ignatius Eyzaguirre. Of its students 25 have become archbishops or bishops; in 1906 the first cardinal of Latin America, Monsignor Arcoverde de Albuquerque-Cavalcanti, Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, was chosen from their ranks.
