Crèvecoeur
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
A fort built by La Salle and Hennepin, 1680, on Illinois River opposite present site of Peoria. The garrison, placed under Tonty, mutinied and drove out the commander. A mission was opened in the abandoned fort, 1684.
