Presanctified, Mass of the
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
The Mass celebrated on Good Friday in which the celebrant receives in Communion a Host previously consecrated or sanctified. Strictly it is not a Mass, but a Communion for the priest. The form of the Mass is gone through to a certain extent but the important words of consecration are entirely omitted. The Host is elevated after the Pater Noster.
