a Dissenting minister, was born at Styford, Northumberland, England, in July, 1724. When sixteen years old, he entered the University of Edinburgh, where he remained two years; afterwards removed to London, and studied under the tuition of Mr. Eames. and Dr. Marryat; was ordained to the pastorate of the Dissenting congregation in Bishop's Stortford, Herts, Oct. 26, 1748, which he held till the time of his death, Dec. 22, 1802. Mr. Angus belonged to the Calvinistic school of thought, yet was singularly free from any bitterness towards those who conscientiously differed with him.
