a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Minot, Maine, September 15, 1795. He was carefully trained by a Christian mother; experienced a change of heart when quite young; began to preach at the age of twenty; and in 1818 entered the East Maine Conference, wherein he spent his long and useful life, dying suddenly, March 15, 1876.
