Carey, Samuel

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Unitarian minister, was born .at Newburyport, Mass., Nov. 24, 1785. He graduated at Harvard College in 1804, studied divinity at Cambridge for three years, and was invited to preach on probation in King's Chapel, Boston, in November, 1808. He afterwards received a call, and, having accepted, was ordained and installed Jan. 1, 1809. Here he labored for six years, and died in 1815. He published a number of Discourses.
