a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born near Pittsborough, Chatham Co., N.C., Aug. 10,1827. He was converted in early life, and received into the North Carolina Conference in 1852 from which time he was one of the most active and useful ministers in his conference, until a short time before his death, June 16, 1875.
