Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Lat. Constabilis), PAOLO, an Italian theologian of the Dominican order, was born at Ferrara about 1509. Gregory XIII appointed him inquisitor of Ferrara and master of the sacred palace. He was also elected general of his order, and died at Venice, September 17, 1582, leaving De Causis in Sancto Officio Cognoscendis. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
