2. In A.D. 761, a national. council under Pepin.

3. In A.D. 775, under Charlemagne.

4. In A.D. 779, under Charlemagne. The council, composed of bishops, nobles, and abbots, passed twenty-four capitula upon discipline, one of which enforces payment of tithes.
