a Greek form found in the Apocrypha of the Hebrew name SHALLUM (See SHALLUM) (q.v.): a. (Σαλοῦμος v.r. Σαλῆμος; 1 Esdras 8:1) the father of Hilkiah (Ezra 7:2); b. (Σαλούμ; 1 Esdras 5:28) a temple "porter" (Ezra 2:42).
