Sciamancy, or Sciomancy

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Gr. σκιά , a shadow, and μαντεία, divination), a species of divination, by which it was pretended the dead were brought from the shades below. (See DIVINATION); (See NECROMANCY).
