Austrian Talmudist and Biblical commentator of the beginning of the eighteenth century; a native of Zolkiev. Under the title "Li??u?e Shoshannim" (Jessnitz, 1722), he compiled the comments and novell� of the Geonim on the Pentateuch and arranged them in the order of the weekly lessons. Me�r afterward revised the work, and, having added thereto notes of his own, published it under the new title "Mi?sheh Zahab." From the preface to the second edition (Frankfort-on-the-Oder, 1733), the first edition seems to have been printed at Zolkiev (n.d.).
