Vocabulary of the Greek NT
This feminine form of μαθητής, which in the NT is found only in Acts 9:36, is applied to Mary Magdalene in Ev. Petr. 11, where Swete ad l. notes that ";in Coptic Gnostic literature (Pistis Sophia, Second Book of jeû), the μαθήτριαι correspond to the μαθηταί = ἀπόστολοι, and are headed by Mary Magdalene (Schmidt, Gnostische Schriften, p. 452).";
