When we were making vinyl records we had a lot of time limitations for each record so songs were left off for a number of reasons. Now, with CDs, much more music can be included.

One father is enough to govern one hundred sons, but not a hundred sons one father.

In peace, sons bury their fathers. In war, fathers bury their sons.

The songs keep on writing themselves, and I really love them. It's as close as I get to a religion.

The songs become the show, which is how it should be.

That's my dream job, to be able to mail songs out to people who want to hear them. Paste my face on them and not travel all over the world trying to sell them.

Men are allowed to write songs about people and women are allowed to write songs about women.

The Jewish people asked nothing of its sons except not to be denied. The world is grateful to every great man when he brings it something; only the paternal home thanks the son who brings nothing but himself.

And it really is a good feeling to get up there and make that sound. I'm not stuck in a time warp, because I can use as many of the old songs as I want to, just the favorites.

Just as a son, to be a son of man, must be of the same nature and spirit of his father; so with the sons of God, and so it will be with all who are born of the spirit of God.

Joanna points her camera at a section of society unused to having cameras pointed at it. But I don't know about categorizing them in terms of class; I'm a bit wary of that. My dad is the son of a shipbuilder.

Since I was doing all of it myself, I had to decide where I wanted to go with the songs, how to proceed with the chords, if the sound was alright, and all that detail on my own.

The thing is, in English I'm able to write the lyrics as I'm making the song, once I'm done with the melody.

The song This Kiss was definitely my breakthrough song. After that, Breathe was my breakthrough album.

I'm still proud of what I've done, even if it hasn't been the biggest song on the radio or hasn't gone to number one.

Writing a song is much like being an author. Yes, we all have tools to write (everyone has a brain I hope!), but that doesn't all of a sudden make us best selling authors.

Sometimes I will click on a random sequence of notes- not to actually use it in a song, but to see if I can find maybe a simple pattern that I can build off of.

Sometime I write a song off a central idea, instead of emotion.

I have come up with very creative ideas that really didn't work with the song I was currently composing.

That strong mother doesn't tell her cub, Son, stay weak so the wolves can get you. She says, Toughen up, this is reality we are living in.
