When someone picks up one of my songs and records it, I'm a flattered man, it's a blessing to me.

And I can say this, most of the people who have recorded my songs are songwriters themselves.

Had I not come out with an inspirational CD, you perhaps would have never known that I feel like I feel, that all songs, all the music I've ever done is a gift from God.

I had been stockpiling Gospel songs for other artists, and had planned to submit them to Gospel artists.

I know every Skynyrd and about all Johnny Cash songs.

I think I'm going to put together a compilation under Disney's name of my songs that I've done for them - because I've done six or seven by now! The latest was for the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack. So that's the next thing that's coming out.

We would make songs, and the producers said we should play it for my dad. I was kind of scared, I didn't know what to think cuz we were just joking around.

I'm not really a songwriter - I'm an interpreter. So in a sense I am an actress first and foremost. I act out the songs, and I lead with my heart.

I try to choose the songs that really are basically coming from my heart. I think that through the songs that I select, people know what's going on in my life.

I have always been fascinated by dark and mysterious stuff. I guess I have a pretty dark and gloomy side. Writing songs saves me from going completely gonzo.

Most people didn't have the bandwidth to download whole albums. And so it brought back this cherry picking idea that the audience would focus on certain songs and possibly be the impetus behind what eventually got on AM radio: the single or whatever.

I like kind of varied songs, not just the same song all the time. And I thought things like 'Too Sentimental' is a different thing for us, but it works and we love the way they all came out. There's definitely varied songs on there.

And this one I wanted to do some covers. So I just really sang some of my favorite songs.

Some songs are just like tattoos for your brain... you hear them and they're affixed to you.

There's a whole lot of songs that men just can't do. The words are from another time and represent too much of an emotional commitment, whereas women can say that because of who they are.

Christ himself wrote nothing, but furnished endless material for books and songs of gratitude and praise.

No, we've been performing our old songs a little differently each performance.

No matter how long you play rock n roll songs might change just as the balls are there, the rock balls. And that's what's important to us.
