A Davidic psalm.

The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the Lord ;^(a)

for He laid its foundation on the seas and established it on the rivers.^(b)

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord ? Who may stand in His holy place?^(c)

The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,^(d) who has not set his mind^[a] on what is false,^(e) and who has not sworn deceitfully.

He will receive blessing from the Lord ,^(f) and righteousness from the God of his salvation.^(g)

Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.^[b](h) Selah

Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in.⁽ⁱ⁾

Who is this King of glory? The Lord , strong and mighty, the Lord , mighty in battle.^(j)

Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord of Hosts, He is the King of glory.^(k) Selah

Lord ,^[a] I turn to You.^[b](a)

My God, I trust in You. Do not let me be disgraced;^(b) do not let my enemies gloat over me.^(c)

No one who waits for You will be disgraced;^(d) those who act treacherously without cause will be disgraced.^(e)

Make Your ways known to me, Lord ; teach me Your paths.^(f)

Guide me in Your truth and teach me,^(g) for You are the God of my salvation;^(h) I wait for You all day long.⁽ⁱ⁾

Remember, Lord , Your compassion and Your faithful love, for they have existed from antiquity.^[c](j)

Do not remember the sins of my youth^(k) or my acts of rebellion;^(l) in keeping with Your faithful love, remember me because of Your goodness, Lord .^(m)

The Lord is good and upright;⁽ⁿ⁾ therefore He shows sinners the way.^(o)

He leads the humble in what is right^(p) and teaches them His way.^(q)

All the Lord 's ways show faithful love and truth to those who keep His covenant and decrees.^(r)

Because of Your name, Yahweh, forgive my sin, for it is great.^(s)

Who is the man who fears the Lord ?^(t) He will show him the way he should choose.^(u)

He will live a good life, and his descendants will inherit the land.^[d](v)

The secret counsel of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He reveals His covenant to them.^(w)

My eyes are always on the Lord , for He will pull my feet out of the net.^(x)

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted.^(y)

The distresses of my heart increase;^[e](z) bring me out of my sufferings.^(aa)

Consider my affliction and trouble,^(ab) and take away all my sins.^(ac)

Consider my enemies; they are numerous,^(ad) and they hate me violently.^(ae)

Guard me and deliver me;^(af) do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.^(ag)

May integrity and what is right watch over me, for I wait for You.^(ah)

God, redeem Israel, from all its distresses.^(ai)

Davidic.

Vindicate me, Lord , because I have lived with integrity and have trusted in the Lord without wavering.^(a)

Test me, Lord , and try me; examine my heart and mind.^(b)

For Your faithful love is before my eyes, and I live by Your truth.^(c)

I do not sit with the worthless or associate with hypocrites.

I hate a crowd of evildoers, and I do not sit with the wicked.^(d)

I wash my hands^[a] in innocence^(e) and go around Your altar, Lord ,^(f)

raising my voice in thanksgiving^(g) and telling about Your wonderful works.^(h)

Lord , I love the house where You dwell, the place where Your glory resides.⁽ⁱ⁾

Do not destroy me along with sinners, or my life along with men of bloodshed^(j)

in whose hands are evil schemes and whose right hands are filled with bribes.^(k)

But I live with integrity; redeem me and be gracious to me.^(l)

My foot stands on level ground;^(m) I will praise the Lord in the assemblies.⁽ⁿ⁾
