NAS – And when the sun came up God designated a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah's head so that he became faint, and he begged with {all} his soul to die, saying, "Death is better to me than life!"

ALE – ויהי כזרח השמש וימן אלהים רוח קדים חרישית ותך השמש על ראש יונה ויתעלף וישאל את נפשו למות ויאמר טוב מותי מחיי

WLC – וַיְהִ֣י׀ כִּזְרֹ֣חַ הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ וַיְמַ֙ן אֱלֹהִ֜ים ר֤וּחַ קָדִים֙ חֲרִישִׁ֔ית וַתַּ֥ךְ הַשֶּׁ֛מֶשׁ עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ יֹונָ֖ה וַיִּתְעַלָּ֑ף וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל אֶת־נַפְשֹׁו֙ לָמ֔וּת וַיֹּ֕אמֶר טֹ֥וב מֹותִ֖י מֵחַיָּֽי׃

RAH – καὶ ἐγένετο ἅμα τῷ ἀνατεῖλαι τὸν ἥλιον καὶ προσέταξεν ὁ θεὸς πνεύματι καύσωνος συγκαίοντι, καὶ ἐπάταξεν ὁ ἥλιος ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Ιωνα· καὶ ὠλιγοψύχησεν καὶ ἀπελέγετο τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν καλόν μοι ἀποθανεῖν με ἢ ζῆν.
