The Seventh Seal—the Trumpets

When He (the Lamb) broke open the (C1)seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour in awe of God's impending judgment. (VR1)2 Then I saw (C1)the seven angels who stand before God, and seven (F1)(C2)trumpets were given to them.

(C1)Another angel came and stood at the (C2)altar. He had a (C3)golden (F1)censer, and much (F2)(C4)incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the (C4)prayers of all the saints (God's people) on the (C5)golden altar in front of the throne. (VR1)4 And (C1)the smoke and fragrant aroma of the incense, with the prayers of the saints (God's people), ascended before God from the angel's hand.5 So the angel took the censer and (C1)filled it with fire from the altar, and (C2)hurled it to the earth; and there were (C3)peals of thunder and loud rumblings and sounds and flashes of lightning and an (C4)earthquake. (VR1)

(C1)Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them initiating the judgments.

The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there was a storm of (C1)hail and fire, mixed with blood, and it was hurled to the earth; and (C2)a third of the earth was burned up, and (C2)a third of the (C3)trees were burned up, and all the green (C3)grass was burned up. (VR1)

The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a great (C1)mountain blazing with fire was hurled into the sea; and a (C2)third of the (C3)sea was turned to blood; (VR1)9 and (C1)a third of the living creatures that were in the sea died, and a third of the (C2)ships were destroyed.

The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star (C1)fell from heaven, burning like a torch flashing across the sky, and it fell on a (C2)third of the rivers and on the (C3)springs of fresh waters.11 The name of the star is (F1)Wormwood; and a (C1)third of the waters became (C2)wormwood, and many people died from the waters, because they had become bitter (toxic).

Then the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a (C1)third of the (C2)sun and a third of the (C2)moon and a (C1)third of the (C2)stars were struck, so that a (C1)third of them would be darkened and a (C1)third of the daylight would not shine, and the night in the same way would not shine. (VR1)

Then I looked, and I heard a solitary eagle flying in (F1)(C1)midheaven for all to see, saying with a loud voice, "(F2)(C2)Woe, woe, woe great wrath is coming to (C3)those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpets which the (C4)three angels are about to sound announcing ever greater judgments!"
