(hayn' nan) Personal name meaning, “gracious.” Personal name probably originally connected to divine name such as El, Yahweh, or Baal. 1. Clan or guild of prophets or priests living in the Temple. Jeremiah used their Temple chamber for his meeting with the Rechabites (Jeremiah 35:4 ). 2 . Clan of Temple servants who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian Exile with Zerubbabel about 537 B.C.
