a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, was born in Wilson County, Tenn., Dec. 17, 1826. He professed conversion in 1848, and was admitted into the Tennessee Conference in 1850. Early in 1856 he retired to his native place, where he died, Aug. 31, 1856. Mr. Alsup was an excellent preacher and a devout Christian. See Minutes of Annual Conferences of the M. E.
