a Baptist minister, was born in Wales in 1831; baptized at the age of fourteen, in Blaenem, Monmouthshire; soon after came to Pottsville, Pa., and began to preach to the Welsh people. For three years he was a student in the University of Lewisburgh, and was ordained, December 25, 1859, pastor at Carbondale, where he remained three years, and then took charge of the English Church at Blakeley. In 1863 he became pastor in Camden, N.J., resigning after a seven years' successful ministry, to become the successor of Reverend Dr. John Dowling, in the Berean Church, New York city, where he died, July 30, 1875.
