a Dominican monk and polemical writer, born at Heilbronn, 1504. His eloquence and learning gained him early distinction, and in 1534 he was made cathedral-preachear at Augsburg. He wrote largely against the Reformation. Among his writings are Enchiridion Bibliorum (Augsb. 1549, 4to): — Fructus quibus dignoscuntur haeretici (Augsb. 1551 4to): — Quod fides esse possit sine chartitate (Augsb. 1548, 4to): — Joel's Prophetie erklart: — Testimonium Scripturae et Patrum, Petrum Apostolum Romae fuisse, etc. See Echmard, Script. ord.
