שַׁי m. (for שַׁיְא, like גַּי valley, for גַּיְא, שַׁו for שָׁוְא), a gift, present, so called from its being brought (see the root שָׁיָא ), in this phrase הוֹבִיל שַׁי to bring gifts, Psalms 68:30, 76:12 Isaiah 18:7.
