HARODITE . A designation applied in 2 Samuel 23:25 to two of David’s heroes, Shammah and Elika. The second is wanting in LXX [Note: Septuagint.] and in the parallel list in 1 Chronicles 11:27 . In the latter passage, by a common scribal error ‘the Harodite’ has been transformed into ‘the Harorite .’ ‘The Harodite’ was probably a native of ‘Ain-harod ( Jalud ), Judges 7:1 .
