Romance writer, brother of Count Joseph Marie de Maistre, born Chambery, France, 1763; died Saint Petersburg, Russia, 1852. He was the author of a few charming booklets, written with artless grace and spontaneous wit: "Voyage autour de ma Chambre," "Le leprenx de la Cite d' Aoste," and "La Jeune Siberienne."
