a French philosopher, was born in 1794, at Belleville. He was professor of philosophy at Paris, and died in 1862, leaving, Cours de Philosophie (Paris, 1842): — Essaxis sur l'Histoire de la Philosophiae en France au Dix-septisme Siecle (1846, 2 volumes): — also Au Dix-huitieme Siecle (1862, 2 volumes): — and Au Dix-neuvieme Siecle (3d ed. 1834).
