L’histoire de Jacob est le triste narré de tromperies et de torts qui lui sont faits. Mais Dieu, selon sa promesse, le garde constamment [(31:29)]. Quelle différence avec l’histoire d’Éliézer et d’Abraham, où l’on voit la puissance et le caractère du Saint Esprit [(chap. 24)]. Ici la Providence est à l’oeuvre, mais c’est l’histoire de Jacob.
